We are regularly improving our knowledge to better serve our clients. We are certified by interNACHI and a member of OntarioACHI. CastleTech Inspectors are required to perform home inspection in accordance with the CSA-A770-16.
Some of the courses that we have completed are:
Carson Dunlop Training Program
OAHI Defect Recognition and Reporting
OAHI Building Code Course
Carson Dunlop Weldon Commercial Building Inspection Course
Not yet, Ontario currently does not have home inspector licensing. However, we are certified and required to perform inspections according to the CSA standard which outlines what is to be inspected.
Many tools that we have are specialised and made for the job, like moisture meters and thermal cameras. Both of these can help find us find water leakage.
Some of the other tools we bring are cameras, ladders, screwdrivers, levels, mould sampling kits and a drone.
We have been proudly and passionately helping clients with their important purchases since 2017.
The main components that we inspect are the roof, attic, insulation, exterior, interior, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems.
A professional home inspection normally takes between 2-3 hours. This depends on the square footage, basement apartments, age and if it has a crawlspace.
Absolutely, we encourage it. It gives us an opportunity to explain our findings and you have a chance to ask questions as we travel throughout the house.
A full colour PDF, easy to read report with photos and recommendations. We use a web based program to collect data during the inspection and the report is written off site and delivered to your email within 24 hours. Links are included to relevant information and ballpark costs.
